pc2-4200 memory on x31/x32?

#1 Post by satyavel » Fri Aug 26, 2005 12:55 pm

x31/x32 uses PC2700 memory. I am wondering if it is possible to use PC2-4200 in them? It is cheaper to get them and I could use them in future for x41/T43. Anyone tried this?

Generally it's fine to use faster memory, it'll just run up the speed the mobo supports, but I don't know specifically about it in TPs.

If your laptop uses DDR (PCxxxx) memory, then it won't work with DDR2 (PC2xxxx) memory. The two types of memory are simply too different.

Different speeds of DDR memory should be fine, though, but unfortunately, it won't be any good in the X41/T43.
