Throwing something your way - IBM Rapid Restore Suggestion

Ok so obviously the RR issue is easy to understand, its a simple easy way to get to preload. If somthing goes wrong, great. But what if you trash your drive??

What do you guys think of IBM developing a tool that creates a restore point of your CURRENT partiton. Nothing like Windows XP restore point. But a compressed ISO image (or otherwise proprietary image) that allows you you to basically go back to a restore point with a push of a button. That sounds pretty cool to me.

Ok ok, norton ghost, acronis, plethora of linux backup procedures. BUT, the convenience of looking at your My Documents dir and / or your linux tree and seeing it all there ALL of it.

Great software begins this way. Throw your comments at me and send some emails IBM's way.

IBM/Lenovo has already done that. Rapid Restore Ultra will back up your system to any device of your choice. It will even backup and make your portable USB hard drive bootable. One button restore? Just hook up the USB drive, boot up, press Access IBM, 15 - 20 minutes later, done. You can also choose to restore whatever file or folder in the back up image.

Is this included default packaged with the IBM preloaded state or is this available from IBM for a price.

I'd like to be able to throw this on an NFS share on my local lan server. It seems like a more complete solution.
