Thinkpad Dock (or II) noise

Is anyone using a docking station that is "dead-of-night" quiet? I have Thinkpad Dock I, and the noise is noticeable. Is anyone using a Thinkpad Dock I that is "dead-of-night" quiet?

I am also curious if the the Thinkpad Dock II are "dead-of-night" quiet out-of-the-box as well...

I had a Dock II, and the fan noise was annoying, so like many users, I simply disconnected the fan power from the mainboard. Heat was never an issue even after that.

All of the Dock IIs I have used (all IBM refurb.) have been "dead quiet".

My Dock II was very loud until I disconnected the fan. Now it's dead silent, with no heat issues.
