boot problem

hi all,

i have a boot problem in the last 2 days. it is during morning time. after i let the laptop sleep for 6 hours, i pressed the power button. the power indicator does turn on and the fan noise however it didnt activate the bios welcome screen.

I have to turn off the laptop and turn it on again to fix this thing. my question is, why it doesnt want to boot at first try and why does it happen only in the morning? Ibm tech. said because i didnt press the power button long enough... i never pressed it long enough, but it still works any other time..
