One pixel brighter then others.

I was asking about an add a used X series on ebay and of course asked about stuck / dead pixels. The seller said there was one pixel (no idea if he acutally meant one pixel or subpixel) that was brighter then the others...he said it changes colors to the correct color but it was overall brighter. I doubt I would buy it because of this but haden't ever seen this effect..usually when I see dead / stuck pixels they are either off or stuck in one color. Would this be considered a stuck pixel or is it more likely a stuck subpixel that just appears to change colors?
