Powered USB port

#1 Post by Yotam » Tue Sep 20, 2005 2:01 pm

Since I didn't get answers in X series forum, I'm asking the same questions here.
1. Does anyone know what are the specs of the powered USB port on ThinkPads? I need to know the voltage and amperes.
2. Can anyone who has IBM Powered USB device, like the external USB Multi Burner Plus, can tell me what are the voltage and amperes it uses?
(you can find this information on the label under the drive.

I need this information to consider ordering parts to make a cable to connect an external non IBM Combo drive to my X41T Powered USB port.

Thanks!

I'd venture to guess that they simply conform to the USB specs.

cheers,

Should be 500mA per port at 12 volts.
