Hi All,

Been having monster problems with my T42, caused by windows crash. Got it kinda working but Access IBM now give me "Startup Interrupt Menu" not the normal Recovery. The partition is intact on the drive, how can I force my Thinkpad to boot to it so I can restore to factory settings?

Many thanks,

FBB

The manual says, turn off computer wait 5 seconds reboot, then push the blue access IBM button when promted. Hope that will get you there

If Kyocera's tip doesn't work, you can boot up with the Rescue Media CD and perhaps access the service partition from there to restore to 'Factory State'.

You can also use the Recovery Disk set to restore to 'Factory State'.

Both the Rescue Media CD and the Recovery Disc set can be burned by going to: Start > All Programs > Access IBM. One entry there says: 'Create Recovery Discs', and the other: 'Create Rescue Media'.

Note: If you restore to 'Factory State', all data on the C: partition (and perhaps other partitions) will be deleted. Be sure and have a backup of all the software and files that you want to keep before restoring to 'Factory State'.
