IBM thinkpad 560: How change bios and HD password. Ihave 'em

#1 Post by santana » Thu Sep 29, 2005 10:57 pm

I have the passwords for bios and hd for an old IBM thinkpad laptop. I want to disable password feature, but when I am in the bios screen, I can't click on that password icon, it just beep twice like an error sound.

Does anyone know how to disable the password protection (bios and hd)? I know all the passwords and I can go in to the bios screen.

Thankyou

You'll want to get your manual. Read the FAQ section here for that.

But, to disable the password, turn the machine on and when it asks for the password, type it in then press space before you press enter. That should clear the password. If that's the supervisor password, it will also clear the disk password.
