Question about upgrading MS Office

I've just had to replace the HDD on my T23. Now that I've got that done I'm reloading all of my software. I am wanting to upgrade my copy of MS Office 97 Pro to the current 2003 version, but before I buy, I wanted to make sure that the current upgrade would in fact upgrade from the 97 version. Anybody know for sure? Also, before I start re-loading Office 97 back on to my computer, was wondering if there would be any issues with loading it to a computer running Win XP. It was previously on a machine with Win 98. Thanks for your help.

You shouldn't have any problems loading 97 onto an XP machine.
As far as upgrading from 97 to 03....not sure.

According to the MS site, you can use the 2003 upgrade to upgrade from 97.

Yep. That page says you can get the upgrade version and that version will upgrade from Office 97 or later (as well as Works 6 or later).
But I wonder if the retail version (with the higher price) would upgrade from Office 95...
Don't mind me.

I have a full license for Office 97 and the CD. From that base, I have been able to install all future versions of Office as upgrades as 2003. You don't need to have Office 97 installed - just provide the CD when it asks for it. ... JD Hurst

Thanks for the information. I was wandering all over the MS web site, but didn't see that page until now. Appreciate the help.
