IBM CSS software for USB disk & FPR

#1 Post by robmack » Wed Oct 05, 2005 3:35 pm

Hi,

I'm looking for software that can encrypt data on a USB disk and interact with the Thinkpad T42 fingerprint reader (FPR). I currently use Remora File Guard but it lacks this support and is not user friendly enough for me. I am hoping that IBM CSS will do what I want. Namely, i'm thinking of the the Ultimaco SafeGuard PrivateDisk component of CSS. I'm dubious that it can run standalone on the USB disk, a requirement if I want to access the data on desksides/laptops other than my Thinkpad. So, my requirements are:

- integration with FPR for authorization with fallback to user/password
- standalone application for portability
- integrated with Windows XP Explorer interface
- high strength encryption algorithm

Does anyone know whether CSS will do the job?

TIA.
