BTW I've been wondering, does it make a difference in battery life if, while on battery power, you set your ThinkPad to run in Lowest vs. Adaptive (vs. Highest) maximum CPU speed?
I previously had my X40 set to Lowest max CPU speed while on battery power, but then I noticed on my X41T that the ThinkPad extended power scheme software lists no difference in estimated battery life no matter what max CPU speed I choose (which doesn't make sense to me).
But I ended up changing the battery power mode to run at Adaptive CPU speed now. Thing is, I now notice that the 4-cell battery gives me a rather short battery life, but I'm not exactly sure if it's really any shorter than before when I had the CPU set to Lowest speed.
Has anyone else noticed a perceivable difference between the various max CPU speed modes (specifically Lowest vs. Adaptive) in regards to:
- battery life
- browsing/office apps performance
