10 days out of the box and a bad pixel appears!
My first TP (X41) is only 10 days old out of the factory sealed box and a defective pixel (green) has appeared. This is rather quick comparing to many other laptops I've owned.
Checked Lenovo's warranty info and it looks like I need at least 7 more for a replacement.

With the sheer number of pixels on the average panel of that size, even a few would be concidered acceptible .. but if there are two or three within the size of say a dime .. then you could argue a replacement.

I don't think it depends on the size of the screen but on the manufacturing process or plant. I've not seen any 1024x768 laptop screens with any bad pixels in a long time. I have a laptop with one bad pixel but I got that laptop on a discount because of the bad pixel.
On the other hand, I've seen a LOT of bad pixels on 176x208 phone screens...
My Thinkpad has a four pixel fuzzy area though. It looks like some dust got trapped behind the screen.

You got 30 days to return the system. Since it's only 10 days old, the Rep will likely agree to an exchange without any cost to you.bigbite wrote:My first TP (X41) is only 10 days old...

Yes there is a 30 day return policy but the retailer made it very clear that if there are less than 4 defective pixels within 30 days, it's not returnable. Once past 30 days, the IBM's warranty is in effect and that requires 8 (bright and dark) bad pixels for a replacement. The Counterpart wrote:You got 30 days to return the system.
