An account named ASP.NET has suddenly appeared. What?

All of a sudden I have an account named ASP.NET on my Thinkpad. I did download something from Lenovo for automatic updates. Could it be that or have I got some malware infection?

Did you install MS Visual Studio by any chance?

It's also created if you install the .NET Framework.

I've since found this:

I did sign up for automatic updates from MS and Lenovo/IBM. Has either of them put it on your Thinkpad?

I don't know the consequences of deleting it. Any clue out there?

I think that account is strictly from .NET framework. It is there in Windows 2000 as well as Windows XP, so it has been around for a while. It is a Microsoft Account and has nothing to do with Lenovo or IBM. ... JD Hurst
