Hidden partition copied?

#1 Post by zzyss » Tue Nov 08, 2005 8:22 pm

I recently bought a new drive from IBM (80Gb high speed drive), and the Ultrabay slim 2nd hard drive caddy. I used the software (Apricorn EZGIG) to copy over my existing 80Gb 4200rpm drive, but the new drive seems to have about 3.5Gb left over.

How can I check whether the hidden restore partition was copied over? If it wasn't, how can I copy it?

Boot up from your cloned drive. At the beginning of the boot sequence, press the blue Access IBM button about once a second until the ThinkPad boots into the Rescue and Recovery workspace. If if will only boot into Windows, then the hidden partition has not been copied over properly, if at all.

Ah thanks. I didn't really figure that that was the "hidden" partition. I thought it was just some funky trick that R&R did with the existing Windows partition.
