Wireless mini PCI card for T43 (2668-AJU)

#1 Post by lrrobinson » Wed Nov 23, 2005 2:41 pm

Hi,

Nice forum and all, I just have one question. I need a a/b/g card for my T43, for whatever reason, they did not ship one to me. Can I use any mini PCI card, or do I specifically have to use a mini PCI card from IBM?

I am thinking about using the mini PCI card that comes with Dell machines (DELL P/N: 0F6749 / 0H8162). It's an Intel 2915 ABG card.

Thanks!

They didn't ship you the card because the machine did not come with one. If that is not your record of actual events, contact IBM. If you need a card, get one from IBM (and in my opinion the IBM 11 a/b/g card) for two reasons: (1) less hassle (= dollars in pocket) and (2) it will be under the machine warranty. ... JD Hurst

Thanks for the quick reply, I know for a fact that I choose the Intel 2200 option, but they said that I didn't. Since it seems that I might have to put some money, might as well go for the 2915.

I think IBM a/b/g mini card is better than intel 2200BG because the former is better for upgrade to 108Mbps mode if you would like to do so. But of course the former is more expensive. Hope helpful.
