I have a T43 with FPR. I've heard of other brand notebooks (Fujitsu) having fingerprint readers that can be used for login in IE and to vertically scroll. Unless I'm missing something, the IBM software is only for Winlogon and powerup. Is there any way to enable these other features? Or a good application? Someone recommended Omnipass, but it wouldnt recognize the built in reader.

The fingerprint or the security software does allow you to do this but I can't recall what exactly it is at the moment. I will try to get back to you tonight regarding this.

To use the fingerprint software to log into websites you first need to set up the Client Security Solution ("CSS"). Once you have a password set up navigate to the website you want to log in to.

Once there, press "control"+"shift"+"G". It will then ask you to enter your CSS password. It will say: "No entry was recalled! Would you lke to create a new one?"

Click "Yes". You will then enter your "user name." In the lower right corner there should be a "crosshair" right below where it says "select field." Drag the "crosshair" to the field where your user name belongs, for the program to remember where it goes. Now repeat the same with your password.

After that has been done, click the "save new entry" button. It will ask you if you would like to save the new entry. There will also be a checkbox above the "save new entry" button. Click "yes" for it to automatically input enter for you, or click "no" if you would like to do it manually.

Once this has all been completed, you are ready to try and log in with the fingerprint reader. Navigate to the page where you would like to log in. press "control"+"shift"+"G" and it should ask for your CSS password. It will then prompt you to swipe your finger. Once this has been done it should log you in depending on whether or not you have the enter button set to automatically be inputted.

I have not figure out a way to bypass putting in the CSS password before swiping your finger though.
