I used Ghost 9.0, which successfully cloned the partition, and the partition boots, but when I get into Windows, I get that blue screen w/ 2 bars and the windows logo on it (after it loads at the proper desktop resolution and whatnot), and then it stalls. So it seems like the MBR is fine (because it boots), so the -ib issue is moot. But is there any reason it can't finish booting while its in Windows? Another weird thing...I can hit the Access IBM button on bootup, and it'll get me to the recovery partition fine.
I also get the 2010 error (cloned onto a 5k80), but that shouldn't be relevant.
More weird things: the recovery partition is listed in Partition Magic as a 4 GB FAT16 partition. FAT16 partitions aren't legally allowed to be over 2 GB. But if you go into Ghost, it says its a FAT32. If I try to create a FAT16 partition in Partition Magic so I can make an exact copy, it yells at me.
Any chance I can do this seamlessly w/ Ghost? I already have it purchased along w/ Partition Magic, and would rather not have to go get Acronis True Image. At that point, I might as well buy a new drive from IBM that's preloaded or something.
Thanks!
Oh yeah, the source drive is a HTS541040G9AT00, and the destination is a HTS548080M9AT00...if that makes a difference. Both are parallel ATA, so there shouldn't be issues...
