Static in Bluetooth Headset mic

#1 Post by mtroxel » Tue Jan 10, 2006 10:38 pm

So I upgraded my T42 for BT. Had to add the card and the attenna. Have had no trouble pairing devices. However.....I've had three Motorola HS8xx headsets and all of them have the same problem. About every third time I connect, the mic boom produces nothing but static. Kind of sounds like something is picking up some errant radio signal. The other 2 out of three times my voice is pretty darn clear. When I say static, it's more like white noise. It's not a reception problem, the signal is strong and I'm only 12" from the Tpad.

I've tested this in two completely different parts of Minneapolis so it's not some interferrence that's unique to my location. Motorola says they haven't seen it before...in fact they were so sure it was just a bad headset, they had me send back the second one to swap for the third one (HS850). Got that in the mail today....exact same result.

Now it's starting to feel like a Tpad problem. I've had three headsets that do it and I don't see anyone on through a Google search that has this problem. Anyone have an idea?
