Anyone ever have a problem with decreased Charging Capacity after performing a manual Reconditioning on IBM Batteries?
I have a T30 battery in my T21 and the charging capacity was 16.49 and it was in the "yellow". After running the battery all the way down, as per the Reconditioning instructions, I now have 13.17, and am in the "red".

Bummer! It sounds like your battery has just about reached its lifespan.

How many charge cycles are indicated?

The cycle count is 228. Not too shabby considering it is the oldest battery of 3 spares that came with the laptops (T21/23/30).
I just thought that I would try it on this one first, since it was the oldest of the bunch. I have a newer one with only like 22 cycles on it, but I am kind of saving that one for road trips.

Do you have a pension plan for your batteries?

Sounds like this one is due for a gold watch and retirement.

I think I'd keep that one in the machine while running on AC, just for backup power, that way the others won't be getting warn. Be sure to store them at less than 50% capacity.

Pension plan???? Are you kidding? I am going to plant it in the back yard and see if I can grow some more...hehehe
Seriously though, as LtTPfan said, I am leaving it in the machine, just incase the power goes out in the middle of usage. Nothing more frustrating than closing this forum page (which is open all day long) and having lost my unread messages.
