Problems getting Fn+F5 to work with latest Intel Drivers

Hi all,

I'm currently using the Intel generic WLAN drivers for my 2200BG, and I've just upgraded to the latest version (10.0.15).

However, this seems to break the Fn+F5 capability. Anyone has tried out this combination?

I experienced the same thing when I downloaded the drivers from Intel's site a few months back. I'm pretty sure you have to use the driver from IBM's site for Fn + F5 to work (at least with Access Connections). The latest driver for the Intel 2200 BG from IBM is 9.0.2.31.

BTW, with my Intel 2200 BG wireless adapter, I use the IBM driver 9.0.2.31 with Access Connections 4.01, and I have a good stable connection. Even when I come out of Standby, the connection comes right back.

Thanks for the reply. Just to check, does Access Connections allow pre-logon functionality?

I was using the Intel generic version 9.0.30 previously just for the pre-logon functionality.. the IBM versions didn't seem to have that.

I have not used that feature. I do see a global setting to: "Allow wireless connection at Windows logon." I guess this is what you are looking for.

Yeah, but it's a clunker. I tried it last night, troubleshooting AC not firing up the Wifi and connecting at home after logging in. The "allow wireless connection at Windows logon" delayed logging in for about 60-90 seconds, which in real time felt like 5 minutes. (Using the Watched Pot theory of time/space relativity.)
