Ive just got a 'Thinkpad Dock' model 2631 from ebay - its great and having a PCI slot will be very useful, but I cant get the key out!
Ive downloaded the manual form IBM, but it just says 'look at the manual supplied with the dock' in several languages, so im none the wiser. Id like to not have to use the key as I dont need the dock to the laptop. As far as I can work out when the key is in the unlocked position it wont come out of the lock - is this normal?

I believe the key will only come out when it is locked, but I could be wrong.

I was hoping there might be some software thing to enable removal of the key (similar to the auto locking when the dock is powered up). Oh well, perhaps ill get a copy of the key made and then cut off the bits that sticks out....

The key is removeable when it's locked. I would discourage you from putting the key in and cutting it off -- that's just asking for trouble.

I believe the DOCK2UG.pdf is on the IBM/Lenovo site.
