T-23 and Windows Media Player

Hi. I just did a format and installed XP SP2 in my T-23, I had saved all my video files on a cd, now none of my videos play on Windows Media Player10. The files open and sound plays but no video. They all worked fine before I had to wipe my hard drive. Avi files play as usual and DVDs play using WINDVD like before. As far as I can tell, only .WMA files will not show video content. Downloaded a couple WMA files and tried to play them but the problem isnt in the files.
Any help will be appreciated.

You need to update the codecs.

Updating the Codecs for Windows Media Player can be a pain, as I found out many times before; you could also try the VideoLAN player

See; http://www.videolan.org/#14_Nov_2002_0

Which works much better than Windows Media Player for just about all the files and doesn't seem to have any codec problems, at least none that I have encountered. WMP has grown to become a resource hog over the years crammed full with useless functions; WMP classic was better.

HTH :)

Actually, I always uninstall the windows player (amongst other msoft bloatware). I use the very light footprint of Media Player Classic.

Ok, I got rid of WMP10 and installed WMC. Now all my video files play.

I tried getting the codecs from MS installed but still could not play video from most of my WMV files when I was using WMP10.

Thanks for your assistance.
