Need to change harddisk mode

In BIOS there is no info/options on my harddisk.

I have a problem with different LBA and CHS values, this is what I get from Partition Magic:
PowerQuest PartitionMagic has detected an error 116 on the partition starting at sector 1333751582 on disk 1

The starting LBA value is 133751582 and the CHS is 15483824.
The LBA and CHS values must be equal
PowerQuest PartitionMagic has verified that the LBA value is correct and can fix the CHS value

Would you like PowerQuest PartitionMagic to fix this error?
I tried to google this error and found:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+s ... /+bug/8322
I have no idea how this has worked out... my guess is that the switching between
LBA/non-LBA mode and PMagic repairing my partition table somehow resulted in a partition table with all values matching, and no errors
It seems that if I had access to some options in BIOS on my harddisk I might be able to repair this error. IS there now way to change harddisk type on an IBM machine??[/quote]

If you are looking for a way to disable LBA on a laptop BIOS, I think you may find you are out of luck.

LBA is typically used with hard drives over about 500MB capacity. There just wont be any hard drives in laptops now a days that don't require LBA, so there is no reason for the BIOS to allow enabling/disabling that capability.
