Replacing T23 Series Main Hard Drive

#1 Post by BruisedQuasar » Wed Feb 22, 2006 12:35 pm

Can anyone post a link to step-by-step instructions for replacing the main hard drive in a T23 series thinkpad with a Hitachi\IBM 5400 RPM 40 or 60 GB Drive?

The sellers of the drives I am looking at claim I can use the existing carrier and caddy. Is this probable? How involved is replacing the HDD unit?

Replacing the HD is VERY easy. Try looking in the Hardware Maintenance Manual, it gives step by step instructions.

Also, yes, the caddy from your old one can be used. Just remove the 4 screws.
