R&R3
Ver. 3.0 added a new feature of Rejuvenation which is an extended version of the pre-existing OS and Applications restore. It performs a restore that is meant to preserve standard data while wiping out all application type files that could be viruses, adware, or infected files and only restoring those files if they exist in the backup. They go under the assumption that you are restoring to a backup that was taken at a time when the system was knownto be in a good state. Nifty feature but any applications installed after the selected backup will need to be re-installed. 3.0 also added Single Instance Storage so that it keeps only the most up to date versions of files from backup to backup to try to preserve space. All good stuff but if you're not doing any advanced backup stuff and happy with what you have you may want to leave well enough alone.
Since that thread ended a while back I'll post a footnote to that in here. Ver 3 will not wipe your external drive (2nd HDD or USB HDD) if making backups to it and will not wipe your USB HDD drive to make it bootable if the drive was originally formatted in Windows. If the drive was formatted with 3rd party software (like Partition Magic) the USB HDD will have to be formatted to be made bootable (become Rescue Media).
