Clicking the TrackPoint

#1 Post by PowerStorm » Fri Mar 17, 2006 5:27 am

I found I kept accidentely clicking the TrackPoint when typing (sausage fingers, what can I say?) so I turned the option to click it off (whilst retaining the ability to move the pointer with it).

Now, for whatever, reason it seems to be turned back on and I can't, for the life of me, work out how to turn it back off again

Anyone able to shed some light on this for me?

No settings of that type in there, unfortunately.

So you could turn it off before and now you can't? Wonder what happened.

This is redundant but > Control Panel > Mouse > Ultra Nav > Settings > Track Point Properties > Enable Press to Select (uncheck box) apply > apply. Happy Camper i hope :)

Thanks, Kyocera, I'd forgotten how to turn that on and off. Odd, it's not in the UltraNav Wizard (that I can find).

Sorry, no Ultra Nav option in the Mouse settings :(

Cracked it (not literally).

I disabled my touchpad in the past (I don't use it and it just gets in the way). It would appear, though, in a recent upgrade that the trackpoint settings have been lumped with the touchpad in the "UltraNav" section and that, by default, it's decided to turn off UltraNav as well.

It must have also turned on the trackpoint double click as well.

Anyway, I turned UltraNav back on, the settings re-appeared and I removed the double-click option. It also gives me the option (now!) of turning off the touchpad without turning off UltraNav. So all is well.

Thanks for all your help

David.

There was a clue. The UltraNav driver installs itself into MAIN.CPL. It also ought to be accessible from ThinkPad Configuration.

Glad to hear you got it all working now. ,;)
