Want to use dock II video card and still be able to use lcd

I have a t41p and a dock II with a pny quadro nvs 280 dual head video card. I currently have two monitors hooked up and everything works great except I cannot undock the laptop or use the lcd while docked.
I would like to be able to be able to use dual monitors while docked but still be able to hot swap. I think I need a video card in the dock that can work in unison with the built in ATI fire GL to make this work.
Does anyone have this kind of setup working? If so what video card are you using in your dock II?
