Mfg part vs. FRU part

I looked up the parts for my R40, because I wanted to know what keyboard I was using. It came up with:
Mfg part #: 08K4913
FRU part #: 08K4757
Description: KEYBOARD FRU
Serviceable? YES
I found out that the second number (FRU part) is a Chicony keyboard, but I can't find any information about the first number (Mfg part). Since I have never replaced the keyboard, I assume that I am still using the Mfg part.

Is it normal for the Mfg part and FRU part to be different? Do they refer to different parts, or are they the same physical part with a different ID (so they can track it differently, presumably)?

I can't seem to find any info on the Mfg part -- is it because it's too old (circa Sep '03)?

Well, I have learned that the sound of crickets chirping in the night is deafening.

I checked a few friend's T4x's. The manufacturing part number is always different and you can never get any info on it (though I did not test this exhaustively). This leads me to believe it is physically the same as the FRU part, just numbered differently.
