Transfer of thinkpad warranty

#1 Post by Bgradid » Fri Apr 07, 2006 4:56 pm

I was just curious, if I got a recently-used thinkpad who the warranty was registered to someone else with, how would I go about using that said warranty?
Is there some kind of re-registration process?

Thanks

Think[pad warranties are registered to the laptop itself by serial number, not to an individual.

Ergo, the warranty travels with the laptop and there's no necessity to transfer anything.

Warranty status can be checked at anytime here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... yle=lenovo

Assuming it's an IBM warranty and not a third party one.
