Will this HD Enclosure work for a Hitachi Travelstar 7K100?

Enclosure: Sabrent SBT-ESU25.

I assumed all 2.5 inch hard drives have the same electrical pin connection/interface, but now am less certain of that.

I do know the 2.5 inch Hitachi Travelstar drives will fit in a Think Pad (specifically the T4x series), and will also fit in the 2nd HDD Adapter for Ultrabay Slim. But I note this other Sabrent HD Enclosure (SBT-ESU18) says “IDE connection for Hitachi Hard Drives”, which kinda implies, (to me), that Hitachi pin connections are different that all other 2.5”/9.5mm drives.

Specifically, I am looking at this drive: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... e=100528-1

I picked up two of the Sabrent SBT-ESU25 enclosures last year for cheap, forgot about them, and now am thinking of getting a high end Hitachi disk drive to use in one of them.

You've confused yourself with facts!

The first link in your post is for a standard 2.5" HD enclosure.

The second link is for an enclosure for 1.8" HDs!

Hence the identification of working with Hitachi 1.8" HDs, as the IDE connector is different on the HDs that come in Ipods, etc.

The 7K100 you're considering from Zipzoom will work just fine in the 2.5" enclosure

Whew. Thanks James, didn't see that. It's obvious now.

But one other reason that made me curious is when I opened up the 2.5" HD enclosure, the connector looked like it had fewer pins that the Ultrabay Slim HDD Adapter I have, (which unfortunately I seem to have misplaced right now, so can't compare them).
