Thinkpad Software Utilities
Thinkpad Software Utilities
If I have Rescue and Recovery, can I turn off the Microsoft system restore utility?
I would think the Thinkpad Power Management Utility should replace Windows power management. Why are both running and which utility has precedence?
When the IBM wireless adaptor management is running the Windows applet does not function properly. Both are running and which one is actually working the wireless adaptor?

Re: Thinkpad Software Utilities
While there is some overlap in functionality between RnR and MS System Restore, they are not just different versions of the same thing, or intended to perform the same tasks.HIPAR wrote:If I have Rescue and Recovery, can I turn off the Microsoft system restore utility?
RnR works best as a backup capability while System Restores works best as a roll-back capability. IMO, most users need both capabilities.

So, what about the power managment utilities ? Which is preferred ?
Are there any other IBM Thinkpad Software utilities other than the three mentioned in this thread, and are they worthwhile ?
