Hi guys. :)

I really hate this new ThinkVantage thing over IBM's past security program...

but....

whenever my computer starts,

there is this message about ccsauth.exe initialization error.

And nothing works for the security feature.

I was hoping that I would be able to use the password manager feature, but I can't.

So... thanks.

CSSAUTH.exe is failing because you did not turn on your TPM [IBM Security subsystem 2.0 chip].

To do so, enter the bios setup screen on boot and enable the security chip.

thanks for your comment... but

on my BIOS setting it says that my security chip is on.

on my thinkvantage setting, it says it has error detecting TPM.

what should i do? thanx

You could try uninstalling the ATMEL driver in Windows Device Manager, then reboot. If you still have the problem, download the latest ATMEL driver from the Driver Matrix page for your model ThinkPad, and install it. To install most drivers from this page you have to download, extract, then run setup.exe in the folder that contains the driver. I am not sure if this is the procedure for the ATMEL driver, but you can read the installation instructions by downloading the readme text file for the driver from the same Driver Matrix page.

1 question... isn't recall a feature in which you can pluck in certain keys

& it would recall that specific password for specific logon. right?

mine doesn't work.

HELP HELP

I disabled cssauth.exe in msconfig & also the Access Connections thing...

this is what happens. after I log in, for the next 30 min, the computer doesn't do anything.

Then, it says that firewall is blocking the program, etc.

And leads me to the windows logon.

After I login, Access Connections comes in & never stops trying to connect.

For the last 1 hour. SOS SOS SOS

I just got a new Thinkpad and cranked up CSS v6 and Rescue, but am now getting the "CSSAUTH.EXE intialization error" when I startup. My bios has the security chip enabled and I have the latest ATMEL driver. Any suggestions?
