switching ethernet cable

#1 Post by ThinkPad R » Fri Apr 28, 2006 9:04 pm

Hey guys! I have 1 problem with this comcast service.

That is switching the ethernet cord. Whenever I switch the ethernet cord to my thinkpad from my desktop...

it doesn't work.

And then it didn't work on my desktop too.

Somebody got it fixed. Now it works on my desktop computer.

But when I connect it to my laptop, it doesn't work.

When I connect it back to the desktop, it works again.

And on this wireless router, if I connect the ethernet cord onto the thinkpad it doesn't work.

If I connect it to the desktop, it works.

(that is... I have wireless router & broadband router.)

help?
thx.

hi
I'm not sure but it looks like you've configured your router to "see" network cards by their MAC addresses..so you have to login to your router as admin and input your thinkpad MAC address..
