240 vs 255 heads - varying HDD recognition by different BIOSes

I recently ran into the problem that an externally partitioned
HDD was not recognized by my R51 -
the error msg was along the lines "invalid geometry of HDD"
or "bad partition table" (cant remember exactly)
and I had to repartition it from within my R51.
