Looking for an LCD.

#1 Post by ThinkPad » Sun May 14, 2006 2:36 pm

Its time to get a nice external monitor, something nice, big and high resolution. I just need VGA input, I probably wont have much need for an LCD TV, but still want a larger size probably around 30 inches or so.

The only problem is Im not much in tune on the LCD specs such as DPI, pixel pitch etc so its hard to tell whats good. My budget is under 1k, is that possible? I think probably the important aspect would be resolution because i would like to use the whole SXGA the T42p offers, and needs to be bright and crisp.

Recommendations would be great.

How about this one? 32" RCA for $997. There are cheaper ones, but the brands were off brands (AKAI & ILO), except for the Polaroid for $897.

I hear that Samsung is leader is LCD technology.

They make the world's largest LCD and also the highest "quality" in terms of....

like technology. I can't really explain it but i.e. 96% quality of natural light.

If you are talking about quality in terms of durability,

I'm not really sure..
