Hello,
Just want to know who is also using Firefox on their TP? My TP cannot load properly with Firefox. It keeps on popping out error messages. May i know what tabs did i click wrongly or should i say may i know what is wrong with my re-installation of FF. I used it for almost 1 month without any problems but after my computer got hijacked by some idiots, i can't install FF like it used to. Please help. Thank you.
MODERATOR EDIT: Moved to the appropriate forum. Please think through your question before posting, this thread has nothing to do with Linux.

Reformat your computer to factory setting is the only way to clean up the hijacked computer. You never know whether there is any remaining malwares or adwares on your computer. You may also restore it to any earlier restore point. Bye. I need to sleep now. Good nite everyone.

That's pretty drastic!
NS, you really should give a bit more detail about the OS you're using - the question is too broad - even though it's related to a single software package. Normally you'd uninstall the package, in this case firefox, locate and delete any remnants, then re-install firefox.

Umm...I am using Windows XP Pro and just swap to windows server 2003 VMWare because i need to do my school project on windows server 2003. I got IE and firefox running together on 1 computer. It used to be okay until my comp was being hijacked and after i re format to factory configuration, i cannot load my firefox properly. Whenever i browse a web page and listen to music, my music will stop suddenly and i need to go back and turn it on again. If i stared at the web page for too long, the page will blink uncontrollably and cannot stop until i press ctrl- alt-del and close all the processors. <-- need this for my school exam practical on Monday (tomorrow).
Thank you for your fast reply and
@GuoXing: Your location is very interesting...

I would try cleaning up first....
First close firefox (it *can not* be open while doing this).
In the following directory (use your username, and find the folder with the random string):
Code: Select all
C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[RANDOM STRING].default
Delete the following files/folders:
Chrome
compreg.dat
downloads.rdf
localstore.rdf
xpti
restart firefox...
still a problem? Repeat the above, but with the following files as well:
history
formhistory
still a problem? Create a new profile with the following directions:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new
If that works, then you can migrate your old bookmarks over by copying your old bookmarks.html file from your old profile directory to your new one. Delete your old one, and your back in business.
