Lenovo.com - New models, old pictures?

#1 Post by lowie » Tue Jun 20, 2006 10:18 am

See for yourself... link1 link2

I thought that since the Z-series, and T60 and R60 series...
all Trackpoint buttons were plain black instead of the distinctive IBM red/blue?

Looks like no one at Lenovo bothered to change the picture presenting the thinkpad overview on Lenovo's site!

Why bother? It's a thumbnail that represents the whole series, including the IBM-made ones which DID have the colored buttons.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

I know it's no big deal...

But if you sold e.g. cars, wouldn't you show off your newest models the most?

Nope. Show off the ones that most people want to buy. Show off the ones that people recognize. If you see a small Porsche ad, do you see that boring SUV (Cayenne), or a 911/Carrera?

Without some of the distinctive colored buttons, Thinkpads can look like any ol' black laptop in a small thumbnail. So .. using the colored pics makes sense.
