I have the option to get a T20 or an A22M. Is one generally a better option? T20 is older (6 or 700 MHZ while the A22 is 1.0ghz) Neither battery last very long, so for most part will be used on a desk.

I would go with the A22m. It has a faster processor and it has both the floppy and an optical drive.

The T20 has the ultrabay floppy, so not a big deal. Faster processor seems to be a gimme, but wanted to make sure there was not something about the build or design I was not considering. Thanks.

Many will say that the A series is just as good as the T series, they are just a little heavier, because they have two bays, instead of one.

I didn't mention the faster processor, because I thought that it was obvious.

I'll throw my 2 cents worth in on this. With all due respect to tfflivemb; although, I think 700 vs 1000mhz is pretty significant, I'll have to disagree a little bit in that the T Series were designed and marketed to the the "premium" piece in the ThinkPad product line and shows it when directly compared to the "mid-line" A Series. Don't get me wrong, I love the A Series and we've always kept one in the house, but there's something different about the look and touch of the T Series that sets it apart.

That being said; that only weighs in on the decision if "all factors are equal" and in this case, it's not. If you like the idea of having an onboard FDD, or the speed difference is significant for what you want it to do, then the answer is obvious! :D

Oh, to throw another wrench into the works, the A Series have been known to have various power issue with the MB. Take that for what it's worth. :?
