RecordNow and DLA by Sonic update

I am looking for advice on two problems.

First, RecordNow disappears every time I reboot my machine. I can reinstall the software, but it will disappear on the next reboot.

Second, my software installer finds a DLA by Sonic update but will not install it automatically. The manual install also fails with the following message: "Windows cannot find C:\DRIVERS\dla52u\%PackagePath%".

Are these problems related?
