replacing backlight on T42?

#1 Post by jkn » Fri Jul 14, 2006 4:26 pm

Hi all
I've been offered (cheap!) a T42 which has a very dim screen. It gets dimmer as it runs, which makes me suspect the backlight. I realise I may be taking a chance on this, but I am pretty competent technically and having done a bit of reading around how to replace the CCFL, reckon I might have a go. I haven't read anything specific about doing this on the T42; any experience, opinion or gotchas?

Thanks
Jon N

Just dimming and not any pink or redness?

Do you have any remaining warranty?

I haven't seen the unit yet - that's what I've been told. No warranty expected. As I say, it's a risk ... that's why I'm trying to scope the risk
