is it just me or does the fingerprint reader get easily scratched by your running your fingers over it - mine has numerous scratches running vertical that are probably a result of running my finger in that direction. i thought this thing would be able to hold up better. any other experiences?

Nope, I have been using mine frequently since I got my T43 and I have yet to see one scratch; it all depends on what coats your finger when you drag over it, I suppose.
