How to Merge Recovery CDs onto ONE DVD?

#1 Post by Dimitri_P » Fri Jul 21, 2006 6:19 pm

Anybody knows, how to merge Original IBM recovery CDs onto one DVD? So I don't have to swap them?

I tried using isobuster to pull all the files off the disks into a DVD and re-buillding an image. It run OK until it asked me to exchange disks. The copy/install scripts check in a flie for info/text to tell them which disk they are on and if they don't find it stuff fails.

Unfortunately, the file with the disk id has the same name on ALL the disks.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

You would either need to edit the scripts or do something else and I was not sure how to do this.

Probably the easiest way would be to use the cd's to restore a thinkpad, then "create recovery discs" and burn 1 boot cd and 1 restore dvd.
After you restore from a recovery set it will allow you to make a new recovery set.
