Gah! what is it? dvi? which one?!

#1 Post by Ashiaveli » Fri Jul 28, 2006 10:21 am

I have a port replicator for my t42. i think it's port replicator II and i need to know what the video input is beside the vga. I want to do dual monitor and have one connected to the vga and have another vga monitor to connect to the dvi. so i got a dvi to vga connector but it wont fit. it's the right size but wont go in. so i bought a different brand, same deal.

is it dvi or what?

Could be a dual link DVI and your connector isnt, or vice versa.

Remember, it isnt just the difference between dual and single link, there are different kinds of DVI ports besides that.
Take a look

Your problem is likely in the DVI-I vs DVI-D realm.

Nope since the VGA connector on the Thinkpad gets disabled and referenced to the VGA port on the Dock instead. :)
