Weird Problem - No Post, No Display with one HD...

#1 Post by kstuart » Wed Aug 16, 2006 4:55 pm

Hello,

I have a weird problem with the T22 that I just got working again for a couple of days.

It won't post or display. The power button gets some LEDs flashing, but nothing on the screen, and nothing after one spin of the HD.

If I switch HDs with my 570 - both work. The T22 will boot Win2k, and the 570 will boot WinXP.

But when I switched the HDs back, the 570 continues to work fine, and the T22 is back to no post and no display.

The only thing that comes to mind for me is that maybe the BIOS on the T22 needs to be updated?!? Could either be that the BIOS doesn't recognize the drive or XP on it.

Thanks for your reply.

The problem is that there is no display at all - no chance for F1 - when that HD is installed.

(BTW, that HD was working in the unit for the past several years.)

OK, so you have already used this drive in the T22 before.

Did you change anything prior to it "dying" on you before? Updating firmware? Windows updates?

EDIT: Can you run PC Doctor on the hard drive while it is in the 570?

A weird aspect is that if there is no HD, then there is no display.
