Drivers, IBMTools, IBMWork folders - removal!

#1 Post by jamess » Wed Aug 23, 2006 10:03 am

These folders seem to include all the patches, updates and drivers installed on my machine. I am wondering if i can delete the contents of these, since they eat about 3 gb of disk space.

thanks!

You may want to make a backup of them before deleting them as a number of them aren't available from the IBM site.

If the IBMWork folder is there, the recovery must have been interrupted. That folder is supposed to get deleted during the cleanup after the recovery. It does appear to have the installers for a lot of the IBM programs though.

My C:\DRIVERS is 1.1GB

I have also been wondering if Software Installer/Update programs do any cleanup of old drivers. My C:\Drivers folder is 1.1GB and my guess is that there are leftovers of old versions.

Reusing an old thread,

So, IS it safe to delete the C:\DRIVERS folder?
