Last Question - Last try....Vid Resolution Switching

#1 Post by rebop » Sun Aug 27, 2006 12:52 pm

Perhaps this was buried in my last list of questions, but really could use some help on this.

I would like my T43 to run t 1400x1050, then switch to 1280x1024 when docked for the external LCD, and revert when undocked (or even just opened). I DID have this working at one point.

It seems there are so many interactive settings between the ThinkVantage LCD Configurations, ATI Monitors Tab in Display and Presentation Director. Can't figure out how to get this to work. I either get the same resolution on both with Pan and Scan on the External, or some combination of settings I do not want.

Now, it IS possible that when I had this working, the External was on the VGA connector. It is now on the DVI and a better, crisper image, but seems there is no way to have a different resolution on the DVI than on the Tpad screen. Or I can not find where to set this.

Any help?

Thanks.

Try going to windows display settings, selecting each of the screens and setting their resolutions.

Also why would you want your laptop LCD to run at a lower resolution when both screens are connected? Let the laptop stay native and just have your external screen at whatever resolution you want.

This should be farely simple, and it should always run the same way when you turn n the second screen using FN keys or whatever.

I DO want the laptop to always run at the native resolution of 1400x1050.

I have tried setting each screen rresoltuion. It does not stick. Once docked or undocked, it changes.
