I am going to university this September and was wondering if you guys think I would need a secondary battery to use; I was thinking of getting a 9-cell one.
I am living in residence located in the middle of campus and am going into the Bachelor of Business Administration program.
I currently have a 6-cell battery with a 46.74Wh full charge capacity, 19 cycle count, manufacture date of July 22nd 2005, and first use date of November 2005.
Should I purchase a secondary battery?

I would get one
Once you get one - you can go pretty much the entire day without searching for a plug.

Re: Should I purchase a secondary battery?
I am on my 5th year at UCI and i still haven't been using my computer in class for longer than 2-3 hours. When you are in class most of the notes are already posted by the professors and all you need to do is fill in the blank. But that may depend on the school and the professor. However even if you constantly type you will not be using as much power because you don't need to be connected to the internet or do any graphic intensive applications (unless you play games during lectures).Hanson wrote:I am going to university this September and was wondering if you guys think I would need a secondary battery to use; I was thinking of getting a 9-cell one.

I am actually considering getting T60 with ultrabay battery and disconnecting the main battery. This will save me the weight. Really that last thing you want is carry extra weight especially when you have a huge campus.
If you want maximum battery life, then the 9-cell batteries are great. I've never run out yet. Yes, they do weight a little more, so you have to factor that in. It depends what factor is more crucial.
You can get a 9-cell on ebay new for under US$50, if you are patient.
