Recommendation for battery refurbisher?

I can live without battery for a month or two as I'm celebrating my 2nd Thinkpad purchase: a sweet little 570E. As it stands, I get out 2.5 minutes out of a "full" charge.

I'd rather refurbish the battery than toss it and buy a new one, even if essentially its being gutted and restuffed - I presume a refurbisher is going to be more responsible with the innards, if such is possible.

Anyone have a favorite service to recommend? Or this there a place that I can just do a "trade-in" purchase?

Try here:

http://www.batteryrefill.com

They offer both an 'exchange' service and a 'refill'. The exchange works like this: You buy a refilled battery from them. When you receive it, you send them your old battery. You don't get your old battery back; they refill yours and sell it to someone else. Not all batteries they offer fall under the exchange program. The other option is refill: You send them your battery, they refill it with fresh batteries and send it back to you. It can take several weeks for you to get the battery back. I've exchanged several 600-series batteries from them and they run for 2.5 hours with the usual web surfing and Office tasks. I'm happy enough with them that I plan to do the same with the T2x batteries I have. The only problems I heard about them is they are sometimes slow to ship and hard to contact. Since I did not have any problems with my orders, I don't know if the last one is true or not. I do know that it took about 10 days after I placed my order until I got the battery. Be prepared to receive a battery that has been glued back together and not in a pristine factory-new condition.
