Thinking about getting a new keyboard, looks like ThinkpadMedic is a good place. Are they reputable and safe? Are all their parts brand new? I want a new one which is why I'm probably not going the eBay route. Also, should I get an NMB or Alps? Which is considered the better one?
I posted a question about the keyboard of my T23 in the T2x forum but unfortunately I couldn't resolve my issue so maybe someone here can. I'm not actually sure a new keyboard might solve it, to be honest. I took it out and put it back in, still have the problem. The problem being, the entire left side of the board is very springy and like a trampoline, like if I type a "2" or a "3" or anything else over there, many of the keys kind of dip lower, as though they're suspended over a gap or something. The bezel over there is also a little bendable, but for that matter, so is the right side when the ultrabay is empty, and that side of the board is fine. My PCMCIA slots are both empty, so I thought maybe the keyboard didn't have any support or something. I doubt that's the case since that's a terrible design flaw, so I stuck a solid thing in the slot, filling it up, and the keyboard still had that flexible feel to it over there.
I believe all my screws are in the keyboard as well, as I looked at the removal video and did everything they did. I used the service manual myself, I wish I had seen this video beforehand, heh...
Anyhow, any ideas? When I took the keyboard out, it did seem more flexible then I might have thought, but I have no experience. The computer is a preowned one I just recieved, if that's any indication.
One more thing if that's agreeable: Some of the screw covers on the LCD near the hinge have come off, so there are ugly exposed screw heads. Any cheap solution or where can I buy new ones? Does ThinkpadMedic carry that small part as well? Thanks!
ThinkpadMedic.com...reliable? Also a keyboard question.

There are two possibilities about why you haven't had an answer.
1) This is an older machine, and the subject has been beaten to death before.
2) It's a major holiday in the US, and we're all out enjoying the end of summer! Traffic is low on the forum.
My guess is that it's a combination of the two reasons. Use the search button to find a previous discussion, then go barbeque something and come back tomorrow to see if anyone has answered!
Me? I'm headed out to the beach!
