BIOS Setup Utility - "!" preceeding a device

My X24 BIOS Setup Utility | Boot has a "!" preceeding the CD-ROM drive. I suspect this means something that is related to why the system startup routine is not finding a bootable CD in the drive. On powerup, the drive light flashes and it spins up.

On powerup, screen displays some Intel messages including a couple of errors:

CLIENT MAC ADDR: blah GUID: blah blah
PXE-E51 No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received.

PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Operating System not found.

I've tried a couple of known-good bootable CDs

Found it!

In the TP X24 Troubleshooting manual, the "!" before a device in the boot menu indicates that it is disabled. The help on this screen discusses enabling and disabling <F5>/<F6> but says nothing about the "!".

Maybe its late. Maybe I am dull-witted.

What shows up in device manager in windows for the drive? I know PXE is pre execution environment which usually means booting from a RIS server via ethernet to intall an image on the machine, I don't see what that has to do with booting from your cd drive though.

Sorry, I meant by my Subject line that I had solved the problem.
